We were all looking forward to a beautiful evening for a tractor pull. Michael, Kristin, Brenda H.( and many others..) and I spent the day in Lincoln "putting away" VBS as it was the last day. We had a quick from the garden supper---sweet corn, tomatoes, cucumbers and onions and ham steak...just to say we had meat, I guess! =) We got supper over and packed up in the suburban and headed over to David City, as always nice if one is a bit closer.
It was just not meant to be. After a pull or two, the front wheel of the tractor dragging the dirt leveler fell off. A couple more pulls and they realize the sled is not working right. They work on that for an hour and a half and finally announce that the pull is not going to happen and we can go back down and get our money back.
It still was a beautiful evening. We took turns walking around a bit...someone saving the seats. It would have been a good pull and we know how bad they felt, but can't help mechanical problems. We will look forward to the next one next week! =)

Glad you liked my chicken story! :D I knew I needed to play off of some 'story' everybody knows - but couldn't remember how various fairy tales went!
