Busy Days...

We got 1.5 of rain on Monday so I decided to start painting the ceiling on the main floor yesterday. I am trimming out the edges first and will go back and roll when I get all the way around. I now wonder what I was thinking when we remodeled 20 years ago, I thought I would like the downstairs to "flow" so there are no stops through the whole downstairs and up the stairs and T hallway upstairs. The only breaks downstairs are in the office and bathroom.....hence.....I can't stop until it is all painted. It is not that it couldn't all use a fresh paint job, it is just that I have had this paint since spring of 2006...and have procrastinated all these months away....kind of dreading this job....

I am almost all the way around through the laundry room, back hall through the dining, living, front entry, kitchen dining and now above the cupboards in the kitchen. I have about 20 feet to go to meet where I started and then will have to go around the center, where the up and down stairs are and up the stairs and hallway upstairs...then on to rolling. I did buy one of those fancy-smancy battery operated paint roller thingys when I bought this paint. You know, that you put on top of the paint can and it pumps the paint up to the roller..... I hope that is all it is supposed to be. I have a roll of plastic drop clothes in case it drinks faster than I can roll. I'll update as to how that went later on when I get to that part.....

The guys are working on the combine and hope to get back over to the 40 on Storm's and start picking again this afternoon. Andy, Kristin and I are heading down to Kansas City tomorrow to visit Dad and Peggy and take Dad down a birthday cake. His birthday isn't until Oct. 2, but thought we would sneak away while we had the chance. I don't know when the kids have seen them last, but doubt they will ever get back up here. I'm making him a big poster birthday card and a pineapple upside down cake...his favorite!

.....................well, I suppose......I better get back in there and keep painting........................ =)

It's a big job! I noticed some more water damage on our ceiling this afternoon, and not sure if I'm going to be able to convince my better half to check out the attic and shingles before winter (I'm sure we need a new roof...figures.) That with a new a/c...makes me think we should've sold and moved a few months ago ;)
