I got tired of always taking a photo of the rain guage, so let fat cat have the honor this morning. It stormed most of the night. Lightening, thunder....and rain.... but we again are thankful that it did not hail.
The guys hauled the last load of beans off of Lohrey 80. They also finished May's beans in the morning. We still have Tarpenning, and Proctor beans to go....that is going to get tricky with all the rain. Steve J. still has his Wilgus beans over here and I think he might be done with beans then.
After they go to the elevator, they will go over to Mel's diner and have breakfast. For many summers, if we got a nice rain, we would go to the lake for breakfast. I am not a big breakfast eater, but he made perfect bacon and french toast and great coffee...when I still drank coffee! =) Michael would always get a ham and cheese omlet and Steve...two eggs over hard, bacon and toast. Kent & Lisa and the kids were always there, Marvy H. and others....all came with the rain. It was kind of a fun tradition. Marvy wanted everyone to go to breakfast again this am. (We could go several times a week this past month or so! =) I had quite a bit of shoulder pain this am, so opted not to go along in the semi...would have tried harder to go if we went in the pickup, but turned up the "TENS" and will do my morning stretches and heat it up good.
The folks rented the game at 11, so will head up there and watch it with them and have a bowl of Mom's great chili. Ok Huskers, let's get a win today!! =)
