As I headed south out of Wahoo yesterday, my phone rang. Cute Farmer was on the other end..."Are you on your way home?" I heard. "Yes, why? Do you need me to go back and get something?" "No, he said. I just had (another) dizzy spell. I was working on some equipment and got up and I could not walk straight. I got so dizzy, I had to kneel down for 10-15 minutes so I would not fall down." The truck driver (the guys were spraying our fields and the driver was sitting in the truck on our yard) came over and asked if I was ok, and I told him I was just picking up nails...(pride thing).... He came back over and said, "Are you sure?" "No, ...I am having a dizzy spell, but I think I am getting over it", I told him.
I told him I would be there in a few minutes and he is getting in and we are heading to ER. We need to get to the bottom of this! We got there around noon. He had also been having pain in his shoulder areas..more in the left, for months...maybe even a couple of years, and we have never figured out what that is either. They got him in immediately and started checking his heart. Later they did a CT scan of his head, then went back to the heart...ultra sound. Blood work for gases that the heart lets off into the blood if it is having problems. All tests were coming back normal. We are grateful...
Dr. Martin, the heart specialist came in and visited with us. He asked questions and we asked questions. He told us the area that Cute Farmer had the stroke in 03, was the part of the brain that controls balance and speech, etc. He said, "thankfully, the good Lord let you keep your speech, but there may be some residual damage to the balance, and might be causing your vision quirkiness. Not wonderful news, but certainly could be worse!! We have never been told that before with any of his odd symptoms since the stroke. The blood disorder he has that caused the stroke, is known to have odd symptoms similar to Lupus (the syndrome is often secondary to Lupus) but is primary in Cute Farmer's case.
We found out he did not have a tumor or any TIA's or other stroke, and his heart checks out good. All great news. At this point, it seems he might just have to live with these dizzy spells. They did warn him that if he had any heat attack symptoms in the future to not think everything is all ok just because these tests came back good. People have had heart attacks not long after a good report checkup...you just never know. But for now, we are thankful for this answer to prayer...and came home and worked.... =)

Thanks for the update. Glad to know his heart checks out OK. *sigh* Our poor bodies....they just keep falling apart, don't they? Hope all his spring work can get done without more problems.
Love you guys...
I've been thinking about this...my Mom had dizzy spells off and on for several years after she started on Coumadin. Wonder if it has anything to do w/ the blood thinner? No wise words of wisdom here...just pondering it all...and praying. Miss you!!
