Andy, Kristin and I took a quick trip to Kansas City yesterday and had a little birthday party for my Dad. He will be 77 next week and survived lung cancer surgery last summer. He is pretty weak, but we are thankful he is still here with us!
I don't think Andy has been with his grandparents since he and Anna's wedding. I was thankful that he and Kristin got to come along and spend the day together. We had a good time visiting and Andy shared some scripture with his grandpa and they had a good visit about heaven and how to know for sure if you are going there. Dad showed us a movie that he had saved on his TEVO called 'In the Beginning'.
I had hoped to get down for a visit all summer and just did not get there. It was great to see them and I told them we would get back down after harvest.
Peggy picked up pizza and had a yummy pasta salad and her famous sweet dills that we all love!
I made dad a big birthday poster that Peggy was going to hang in Dad's bedroom across from his bed so he could see it.
I took down Dad's favorite, pineapple upside down cake and Kristin brought along the 77 candles and we watched him make a wish and blow out the candles. We were so glad to come celebrate with you Dad! Happy Birthday next week....we love you! =)
