We will have a void at our family holiday table. Dorothy Malm passed into eternity this morning at 1:30 am. She is my brother-in-law's mom and was always at every family gathering. At 88, she lived in her own home until a few weeks back when she had fallen and broken her hip, and was in recovery at the nursing home. Her health continued to deteriorate this past week, and family was called in.
Dorothy never came to a gathering without many colorful stories and a big plate of kolaches. She loved her family and loved to visit, and worked hard all of her life. We are going to miss her!

Beautiful tribute to her, Mom. She was a treasure to be around!
I just found out... I'm glad I could appreciate her company last Christmas Eve. She told me stories about playing cards and memories like that. I remember going to her house to get some cuttings of peonies and other flowers for my graduation party... she was so anxious to help and enjoyed having us there, wanted us to stay longer. (this was on my mom's bus route)
She also always made me feel so pretty :) She said I was "willowy," and would just smile so big when she saw me or remembered who I was. You'll be missed!
