The kids are in Chicago this weekend celebrating birthdays with Amy's mom and Brian and getting some much needed hugs! It is hard having kids living all over the country. We are soooooo blessed to have telephones, airplanes and internet!!! I don't even like to imagine what it was like in the pioneer days when that wagon headed west with your babies and grandbabies and you wondered (knowing it was probably true...) if you would ever see them again!! Now, I whine when it has been a few months since I've wrapped my arms around my kids and grandbabies! I'm very thankful to have Andy and Anna and the babies so close...and it is even week to week or longer sometime before we see each other!! I'm so glad that Cheryl and Brian are together celebrating this year, and glad to hear that Amy is feeling better, too!! Love you all!!!

Harvest continues. It has been tricky the past couple of weeks as we get just enough rain to stop bean harvest. They switched back to corn yesterday for the day and will try beans today. The forcast is for rain to move in tomorrow night and rain most of the week. They will go like crazy until it gets to tough to cut again. It would be so nice to get them done!.... It is very rare to miss Sunday morning church. Michael and I will huddle around the computer and listen unless I need to help them move equipment. Get a load of that forcast on the side here >>>> does it say snow??>>>>>> ack!

We were going to call and wish Rylie a happy 4th birthday, but she was out partying so we visited a while with her daddy. =) Cami and Calvin are out for the weekend. It is supposed to be beautiful for the next coming week. We'll get in some good outside time today......hopefully photos to follow.... =) .

Cup.cake Cake

A sweet young friend is having a birthday on Saturday, so I asked her mom yesterday what kind of cake she likes. She said angelfood or chocolate. She is having a slumber party tomorrow night, so I thought I would put her a little cup.cake cake together and take it to her mom at work tomorrow and she can take it home for them. I finished printing her name album but don't have it all put together yet. Hope to get that done yet today as well and give it to her for her birthday...

God blessed us with a new daughter this year and today happens to be her birthday!! We feel blessed to have God answer our prayers so quickly! Thank you for loving our son and joining our family!!!

We sure wish we were there to share a piece of cake and I know your mama was excited to fix you your favorite meal. We are so thankful she is there to celebrate with you!!!

Happy Birthday, Andy!!

I must be getting old! My second-born is 32 today!! My brother-in-law turns 53 today as well...happy birthday to you, too, Curt!! =) Have fun on your birthday outing tonight, Andy and Anna! We thank the Lord for blessing us with you, Andy!! =) I think this was your third birthday photo. ...notice the curls... =)

I finally finished painting my ceiling downstairs and up the stairs and landing yesterday...and I am feeling it this morning. Now I remember why I quit! =) After a pep-talk with Amy, I am off to the paintstore today, after a meeting at church, and picking up some paint to start in the kitchen.

Michael also finally got his bed yesterday, so now his rooom is jam-full of new furnature. I'll post photos later...have to get his lunch packed and head him off to work, and me to town......ta-ta!

A stormy night ...but no damage..yet...

You could just tell it was going to be a stormy night last night. It was so humid yesterday. I went in to work for a couple of hours after I picked Michael up and there were storm watch boxes up for the western part of the state by mid afternoon. Kearney had tornado damage and also some around the Aurora area. We were thankful that the worst of the storms went north and south of us. We had an additional 1.5 inches of rain to our already saturated fields. The creeks in the county are flooding due to heavy rains up north. Steve took the 4-wheeler to see if he can get to our bottom ground fields. He has the camera, so will post later, if he can get some photos.

I spent some time this morning making Lucas thank-yous and got his graduation card made. I made a card for a friend from work who is celebrating her 40th birthday tomorrow night too. It gets a little crazy if we are both working the same day, and when I answer the phone, those that know her, start visiting with me like we are best buds. =) I always have to explain that I am the 'other' Sandy. (I should say..the one that doesn't know anything...=) hehehe

I Love the double-sided cardstock from Bo Bunny. It is so easy to whip a card up.......

We celebrated Calvin's 1st birthday (tomorrow) and Cami's 3rd birthday (Saturday) this evening with a chicken and rice supper and Elmo cake and ice cream and a little gift opening..

A new page for my photoscreen.... Chris, Jackie and Janice drove out yesterday and picked me up and we went to O.live Gar.den for lunch. Yum! I love the all-you-can-eat soup, salad and breadsticks. It was so fun spending time with them and having a girl day. I don't know where they find their cards, but they made me laugh so hard! Thanks, friends, for celebrating my blessings with me! =)

Can it really be???

Can you really be turning 9 tomorrow?? Grandpa wanted me to make your card like this. He has been saying "Caroline...she's so fine....and she's not even nine" for so many years, hasn't he??

I still remember your first cry! I was standing outside the door of your mama's room. I could hear voices and the next thing I heard was a baby crying! I forgot that it all happens in the same room these days. My heart was so full! I had tears of joy! A nurse walked by and asked if I was ok....I said "I couldn't be better, I just heard the first cry of my first grandchild!" =) Have fun on your big day...we love you so! =)

Happy Birthday, Best Friend

Birthday boy will start his day celebrating at the coffee shop. I called and ordered "donuts for everyone" as is the custom there. If he goes up early enough, I will swing by with my camera and grab a shot, but is a busy day for all of us. I take Michael to work and I have therapy this morning, hair cut right after lunch and early supper for all at Brad and Jackie's, and birthday boy wants to get home and finish up some field work. Thankfully, he has gotten a lot done and is feeling pretty good about a good start for spring. I'll have to grab some photos of how beautiful the fields look after he is done fertilizing and going over them with that "strip-tiller".

When I get home later this morning, I'll be making his favorite cake....German Chocolate! He likes it made as brownies so there is little cake and lots of frosting. Still a kid at heart, and I'm so thankful you are my 'kid'!! love ya lots!! =)
