I was all ready for my Christmas coffee last night. SJ had an extra NE volleyball ticket, so I rode along with them and saw that exciting game. After I got home I finished some nametags and printed another game for this morning. I woke up at 3:30 hearing ice hitting the window. In the photos down further, you can see....it was much too slick to have anyone chance getting out.

As I was calling neighbors....and they were calling me, Michael was standing in the kitchen next to me and I heard him say, "hey, what is going on...my leg is shaking, and he went into a full grand mal seizure. That has not happened for about five years and was frightening for all of us. I had Steve call 911, as we are just not used to it and it does seem like he stops breathing, but you know he is alive as he is still shaking. We got him turned to his side and we all rode it out. My friend, Janna, deals with this all of the time with her daughter, and my heart just goes out to her all the more right now, as it was breaking my heart to watch Michael cry before he went totally out. He was so afraid of what was happening. We know that lack of medication caused it, and know again, that we can not trust him completely to take his pills. He can go one time without, but had not taken one since Thursday morning, and just can't go that long! It was our fault, not his. He is doing just fine right now and waiting for me to show him Disney on Ice.

This is what it still looks like outside. We did not lose power, but did hear some lines were down in Omaha. We were unable to get on the internet all morning.

Which photo made it on the news?
So glad Mike was so cheerful yesterday. He was trying to explain what happened yesterday-he called it an "s" word but it wasn't seizure...I forget now what word he used. I'm glad you know exactly that it was from lack of meds and that it didnt' occur in addition to him taking them as he's directed.
Those photos are beautiful. Sorry about Mike. That sounds terrifying. But he's a trooper :)
Wishing you well from my snug dorm room :D

So sorry to hear about Mike - hope he's OK. Too bad about all the ice - it messed up alot of plans! You have some really neat pics, though.
Oh, my heart goes out to you & Micheal. Seizures are traumatic!!
Turning them on their side and rubbing the back of their neck bring them out of it sooner too.
Saturday was an awful night for Brittany seizures too!
xoxoxo
