Prayer requests and fall colors...

Please keep my folks in your prayers. My Dad has been in a care unit getting physical and occupational therapy and they are telling them that there is nothing more they can do for him and he will need to be released. He needs to be in a care facility for about 30 more days for their nursing home insurance to kick in (that they have been paying for about the past 25 years..) The caseworker realizes his need for care, but they are having a very difficult time dealing with the care facility. They both have health problems and Pegs daughters have done an outstanding job trying to get this resolved, but the care facility does not want to budge and he needs 24 hour care. Thanks for your prayers.......

The leaves are really changing on the beans and corn. These are the fields just west of the place.. ....from our west corner looking back up to the place
The guys have been picking wet corn on Lawrence's and hauling it to Rai.kes who feed it to cattle. It is a slow process, as the corn is testing around 30% and barely runs out of the trucks as it is so wet. They pick both the semis full and the go sit in line for hours. This would be the driveway when the place was still here..... (Yes, Cheryl...dry corn (about 15%) just flows out of the truck, but higher moisture corn kind of wants to stick together and just moves out a lot slower...) Cattle feeders want high moisture corn, and they 'smash' it through a roller mill, (it kind of 'smears' it like a big corn flake) and then it is piled and they drive over it with tractors to pack it down. For some reason, it keeps this way and the cattle love it.
Again...fields just west of our place...
Cute farmer had me take the pickup over to SJ's and get this trailer and bring it back and we loaded this extra tractor tire on to haul it back over to Lawrences to get the tractor tire fixed.
Never a lack of things to do this time of year.

Will contiue our prayers up here too! I understand...it's hard.

I learn sooo much from you, just reading your blog and learnin' the farm lingo! I think I even understand some of it, like "barely runs out of the truck it is so wet". Does that mean it's wet and sticks in there?

You guys amaze me! I think going to the grocery store is a chore sometimes! God Bless Cute Farmer and his wifey! ;)

Ray looked at the pictures and asked if that was Grandpa's tractor. He asked because he couldn't remember if Grandpa used a green tractor or a red tractor. "Always green!" I told him! ;)

Wish I were there for harvest... even though it rained a lot last year, I still enjoyed it!
