Bean Harvest.....

Unloading on the north end of the Storm 80
Driving south on the west side of the Storm 80
Minor breakdown

Grandpa Virgil....going strong =)

We have over 300 acres of soybeans harvested. I was heading out to let Michael ride when a call comes over the radio "the auger in the head won't turn....I'll need you to come over and help (Virgil). SJ came right away as well in his pickup and they came back and got a tool and had it repaired right away. They are just about done with this field and will move to the bean field just west of the house.....the one that had all of those yellow leaves just a few days ago. The leaves all all gone, as in these photos, and ready for harvest.....

We drove to Wichita, KS today and on our way home we noticed several farmers still workin out in the fields with their lights on. I commented to Mark on the busy time of year for the farmers and actually thought of your farmer boys out there! Praying for a safe, pleantiful harvest!

I LOVE those pictures! Virgil is such a work horse!! What a wonderful example for his sons!

And I REALLY love your supper menu! I get such inspiration from others who post that! Sometimes I just come up dry! (like tonight!) But I decided to post that on my blog to help me "purposefully make plans". I've noticed now that I have an empty nest, it's much easier for me and honey to run out for a quick bite instead of cooking.

I love your daily posts, Cheryl! You have inspired quite a few of my meals already!

Yes, the joys of living in town! We eat out almost every Sunday, but it is rare if we do during the week unless we are already in town for something else. I know what you mean about coming up dry with ideas! =) My guys are happy with even breakfast for supper! =)

I look forward to showing these photos to the kids so they can "be there" for the harvest!

I was writing a news article about ethanol last week and thought of you guys :) Specifically it was a student documentary; I watched part of it online and when they interviewed a farmer and rode with him in the field, I was like, "That's my family!" :)

I LOVE the pictures!! Simply thinking over all of your posts that you've shared about your farming this year -- the prepping, the planting, the flooding and now the harvest -- what a wondeful reminder of the labor and fruitful reward that awaits us as we share the gospel with others! I LOVEEEEEEEEEE these pictures!!!!
