We've lost a good friend.....

Our 'Cecil the Diesel' has not been around for a few days and we were starting to worry. I had a message on my phone this morning....."well, it's a sad day... I found Cecil across the road. I'm guessing he was hit by a car..."

I'm so glad I hadn't listened to that during work. I don't know how many people I told today that our cat has been gone for a couple of days and we are sure hoping that he has just been out hunting and will show back up. He was a lot of fun and we enjoyed him so much over the past 8 and a half years. We are sure going to miss him and I know a lot more of our family and friends will too........

oh noooooo...

Kinda wished I could have played with him somewhat recently... but I'll always have memories of him warming my lap after those chilly bus rides or attacking me while husking corn.

My heart is so sad!!! He was a great cat. We have some great memories of him, esp. from those times we would come visit/take care of him while you guys were down south. One of those memories is him attacking your legs when you tried to leave.:-) I bet you two will miss him for quite a while, cause he won't be following you around your farm place. Oh, I miss him already!! :-(

Oh Sandy...I'm SO sorry to hear this! Both our guys left us this past year! Why is it we get so attached to those little critters?? Cecil reminds me of our Toby so much too...kinda makes me feel like I've lost a friend again! I know you'll miss him terribly. :...(

He's had almost 9 lives, you know. (if you count each year as a "life") :) We will miss him dearly. I'm glad you have so many fun photos of everyone playing with him. I think we can safely say he was "the king of the farm" over all the other felines who padded across that soil. ((HUGS))

Awwwww, that makes me tear up! It's the WORST feeling in the world for a good kitty to die! Here I lost Toby right before the wedding - and now, his cousin Cecil is gone too. I know exactly how you guys feel! I know a cat is just a cat, but gosh -- when it's a good one, you just get so attached and it's so hard to lose them! I'm just glad I got to see him one last time this past June! :)
