Aunt Verna

I got a call this afternoon from cousin Carol. She said that her mom, Aunt Verna, had passed away at 6 am this morning. She had not been well a lot of this year. We visited her last week in the hospital and she was in good spirits until the end. She was an excellant seamstress and I think of her every time I use the many pretty hotpads she has given for Christmas gifts over the years. Her funeral is Wednesday. She will be so missed at our holiday tables.

thank you for letting us know. I'll always remember Aunt Verna's way of "thinking out loud" since I was very little and she was sitting in at the kitchen table in the trailer. I felt she had a step by step commentary of the things us kids were doing when we were little, then seeing her do the same with my own children was a really precious thing. I'm certain it was just part of her way of communicating. We will all miss her presence on the holidays and her little Christmas card in the mail each December.

Praying for you all in your time of loss. The final stepping stone to our eternal home.

I still use my grandmothers hot pads...and smile almost every time!

Thinking of you!
