Spider bites and migraines....

are about the most eventful things this week. I have been looking forward to our annual 4th of July get together. We always play horse shoes and eat and eat..... well, you get the picture.

Anyway, on Tuesday night, I grabbed the horseshoes from underneath the bench in the garage and hooked all eight of them on my left arm and grabbed the stakes and headed down to the shop to repaint them. The stakes are now shiny white and the horse shoes are red and white and yellow and green. I fought off a few mosquito's while spraying away and noticed I had a dandy of a bite just about under my watch band on my left arm.

When I went to work on Wednesday morning, I noticed that that bite was about the size of a nickle and looked like a bruise with a white circle in the middle and a small red dot. One of the girls at work (who also works in the Dr. clinic next door, drew a circle around it for me.

By Thursday morning it had grown to about the size of a quarter and had a small streak moving out from it. Time to call the Dr. and they said get right over here. It didn't come to a head, so I am relieved that it was not brown recluse, but he still wanted to wrap with an ace bandage to keep the swelling down and put me on an antibiotic.

The antibiotic was making my stomach a bit upset at the second dosage. At any rate, I woke up Saturday morning with my typical headache behind my right eye....so out comes my Zomig for a migraine.....too late. I was nauseated by 10 am and had to call of the 4th party. Pits!!

Now I have a big pot of sloppy joes and buns to freeze and plenty of watermelon. I'm so glad I didn't get the lemonade and tea all made up yet. It was only in the 70's.....the second coolest 4th on record! Steve and Michael went in to Ashland to watch the fireworks. I spent the day on the floor with my pail and the blinds drawn.

My tummy is feeling better this morning, buy my eyes aways hurt...probably a little dehydrated. It felt good to get up and take a bath and starting to do a little laundry. The guys headed to church. I will try to go tonight.

The spider bite is looking like a faded bruise and I decided I will not be taking the rest of the antibiotic.....(This is what it looks like this morning....)

....

There is another fireworks show at Ceresco next Friday...maybe I will see fireworks then. =)

Spiders and snakes...I'm not sure why they are on this earth, but there's a reason. As long as they live in the field...I could be okay with it.
Hope you're feeling better!
