Drop Shadows in Photoshop Elements

Carol was having trouble figuring out drop shadows & the dialogue box, so thought I would post this to see if it might help. 1. is where you go to find the drop shadows. You click on the little "down arrow" and it says "effects, filters, and layer styles". You click on "layer styles" and then in the window to the right, ( 2.) click on the little down arrow, and click on "drop shadows" and then click on one of the samples to see whick depth you like the best. To control how deep you want the shadow to look, (3) click on the little "L" next to the photo or element you gave the shadow and this little box (4) pops up. You cans slide the little slider (where the arrow is pointing) to control how deep the shadow looks. Most times mine are set from 0-5, but it is really how you want it to look. Then just click 'OK' . Remember...if you don't like it, just use my most favorite button....UNDO!! = )

so one of my questions is...is there a place to set a "default" or "preference" for your shadows...so they come up the same all the time. Or do you have to go adjust each time?

Carol...you'll get it in no time...just keep practicin! I made like 3-4 pages a day for awhle b/c I was afraid I'd forget.

And take notes. I have a "Sandy's lessons" folder right here beside my computer! Can't wait to play again!

If you buy the "big boy" photoshop, it will leave it, but you have to adjust this one each time..it does not stay where you set the last one.....

Hey, this is a great help...love the look and feel of your blog, by the way--so cute and clean.

Did you know I have video tutorials to learn digital scrapbooking in Photoshop Elements? Many of them are in the free area...basics like this are.
